Let’s Button Up Crime” Campaign Returns for 2nd Season
T he “ L et’s Button Up C rim e”
Com m ittee has begun meeting to plan
the 1990 “ L et’s Button Up C rim e”
dance.
T his com m unity event raised over
$11,000 dollars last year to knock-out
crim e through supporting com m unity
crime prevention programs in Gresham.
T his year the goal is to raise tw ice as
m uch money - but to do so, the com m it
tee needs more com m unity help and
hardworking volunteers.
The dance com m ittee has targeted
Sept. 15 as the new date for this 50’s
dance. And this year’s location w ill be
Gresham Skate World. The Multnomah
H ot Rod Council will sponsor for the
second consecutive year a classic car
show-and-shine at Gresham Fred Meyer.
But, everyone’s holding their breath
for the final word and confirm ation
about the 50’s group which is rum ored
to appear at that place and time.
The “ L et’s Button Up C rim e ”
com m ittee now has a phone m essage
center, the num ber is 665-6283. Please
call if you need more inform ation or
can help.
