the Portland Ship Repair Yard. The successful candidate w ill:

A viation Maintenance Technical Service. The successful candidate
• M aintain, repair and replace electrical and electronic systems and
components on cranes and other equipment.
• M aintain and install w iring connections on terminal panels, control
panels, fans, motors and starting devices.
• Trouble shoot hot circuits.
• W ork from schematics and w iring diagrams fo llo w in g state, mu­
nicipal and underwriter’ s specifications, codes and ordinances.
• Compute wire gauge, power and load requirements.
• Hook up shore power to ships on dry dock, both AC and DC.
• Install and maintain H .I.D . lighting systems.
• Possess a lim ited journeyman manufacturing plant license.
1. Manage and direct Technical Support Department providing
services to the maintenance operation. Responsibilities include
budget planning and control, in-house procedures fo r identifying
accurate cost inform ation, systematic preventative maintenance pro­
gram, operation o f computer based maintenance management sys­
tem.
2. Coordinate development o f ten-year pavement improvement
program and budget reports.
3. Manage signate operations at PDX.
4. Manage asbestos inspection and maintenance program fo r A v ia ­
tion Department.
5. Develop vehicle specifications.
6. Analyze and review maintenance procedures and programs.
7. D irect snow and ice operations when acting as snow team
leader.
• Education and experience leading to a w orking knowledge o f indus­
trial electronic and electrical systems.
• A b ility to read and interpret circuit diagrams and to use the various
types o f test equipment.
• P rior experience on cranes.
• Knowledge o f synchronous motors and controls.
• Prior ship repair yard experience.
This is a bargaining unit position w ith a starting salary o f $14.49 per
hour in addition to a comprehensive benefits package.

and graphics.
• A b ility to communicate w ell, both orally and in w riting.
• A b ility to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent activities.
• A b ility to w ork cooperatively as a team member.
In addition to a starting salary range o f $30,532 to $35,184 per year,
commensurate w ith experience, the Port offers a comprehensive
