Sealed bids w ill be received at the office of the City Recorder, City Hall,
Sandy, Oregon, until 1:00 PM local time on March 3, 1989, at which time all
bids w ill be publicly opened and read aloud, for REN O VA! ION AND
REMODELING AT THE SANDY LIBRARY/POLICE BUILDING.
The proposed work consists o f the furnishing ot labor, material and equipment
to renovate and remodel an existing building to serve as a library and a police
headquarters. The proposed work includes Installation of gypsum board walls,
glazing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and cabinet work.

postmarked to Multnomah County Purchasing Section by not later than 10 days
prior to bid opening.
A ll bidders must comply with the requirements of the prevailing wage law in ORS
279.350.

Contractors and subcontractors must be licensed for asbestos abatement work if
the project involves working with asbestos.

with the provisions of Federal Executive Order 11246. The requirements tor
Bidders and Contractors are explained in the Specifications.
No proposal w ill be considered unless accompanied by a check payable to
Multnomah County, certified by a responsible bank, or in lieu thcreol, a surety
bond for an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the aggregate proposal. The
successful bidder shall furnish a bond satisfactory to the Board in the full
amount of the contract.
Multnomah County reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL
The Metropolitan Service District (Metro) is soliciting proposals for professional
technical services to conduct the waste sort component o f a waste stream
characterization study. The waste sort is expected to provide the data and
information for the analysis o f the Metro region waste stream components. Both
the waste sort and the analysis w ill provide the factual basis for the Metro Waste
Reduction Program, and establish a baseline for long term measurement of the
system performance. The selection process w ill be based on experience relevant
to waste management issues and/or waste characterization and completion o f the
project within budget and schedule.
The RFP is available in the Solid Waste Department, 3rd Floor, at the above
address. Potential proposers can »’ so lequest proposal mailed to them by calling
the Solid Waste Department at (503) 221-1646.
Proposals must be delivered to the Solid Waste Department, Metropolitan Service
District, 2000 SW First Avenue, Portland, OR 97201-5398, to the attention of
