"Okay, so maybe I’m not an expert on how to win friends and influence people—yet. I’m a trained professional electrl clan, and a member of IBEW, Local #48. Being an electrician isn’t Just working with high voltage wiring systems It’s deal tng with people. So when the NECA/IBEW Metro Training Program offered us union workers and contractors a Dale Carnegie course, I snapped It up. So did these guys That’s Clifton sitting down and Jim standing next to him. They’re both Journeymen And Clair—he’s a NECA contractor project manager I'm Denise — the one In the middle I'm a Journey man, too We’re proud of our work. Sure the NECA IBEW Metro Training Program lets us fine tune our technical skills It helps me stay updated on code changes, and know the latest technological advancements. But more than that, classes like the Carnegie course give us the chance to Improve our hum an relations skills. And that’s Important. Because traditional val ues really do work best After all, our Job Isn’t Just aboutslectrlcal power —It’s all about people” C a JI RO3/833 B787 or write for your handbook of electrical contractors National Electrical Contractors Association and International Brotherhood at Electrical Wirkers, local 48,001 N E Everett 8t, Portland, Oregon 97232 2/21/89 2/28/89 2/28/89 5 PM 3/31/89
