INVITATION TO BID
Sealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Mana­
ger of the Port of Portland, 700 N.E. Multnomah
Street, Portland, Oregon (mailing address: P.O. Box
3529, Portland, OR 97208) for items detailed herein
until the individually specified dates and times indi­
cated, and thereafter publicly opened and read.
Plans and specifications may be examined and/or
obtained at the above address. Contact the Purcha­
sing Department at 231 -5000, Ext. 588.
Bids must be on the bid form provided to prospec­
tive bidders and, when Bid Surety is required, must
be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check
drawn on a United States bank, or a bid bond pay­
able to the Port of Portland in an amount equal to at
least 10 percent of the total amount bid.
When prequalification is required, the prequalifica­
tion statements should be received at least 5 days
prior to the time set for bid opening. Applications
for prequalification may be submitted less than 5
days before bid opening, but consideration by the
Port cannot he assured.
Attention is called to the provisions of the Oregon
Revised Statutes 279.350, providing that workers be
paid prevailing wage rates.

REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS
The Portland Ambassador Program, through its staff
at the Portland Development Commission (PDC), is
soliciting proposals from qualified technical writers
to assist in the production of an Oregon Biotech­
nology Directory.
The Biotechnology Directory will be a concise cata­
logue of all the public/private biotech efforts under­
way in Oregon. Particular emphasis will be given
to research efforts at the University of Oregon,
Oregon State University, Oregon Graduate Center
and Oregon Health Sciences University.
Selection of the technical writer will be based on the
individual's qualifications and past experience in
handling projects which involve gathering highly
technical data through individual interviews, assem­
bling research data into comprehensive format, and
inputting text onto an IBM or Apple compatible PC.
The Ambassador Program encourages participation
of Minority/Women Business Enterprise contractors
in all its projects.
Proposals should be submitted in the form of a letter
that includes your intent and qualifications, the insti­
tutions for which you have provided technical ser­
vices, and samples of your work.
Proposals are due at the Ambassador Program Office
at PDC no later than 1:00 p.m., Friday, November
20, 1987.

Scope:
Construction of a three-level parking structure, ter­
minal access tunnels, terminal access walkways,
electrical and mechanical utility work, and associated
site work including landscaping.
A prebid conference will be held on Thursday,
November 5, 1987, at 1:30 p.m. in the Port offices,
700 N.E. Multnomah, Portland, Oregon, 13th floor.
Conference Room Nos. 13 A, B and C, to discuss
all phases of the work.
