Kevin Duckworth, Portland Trailblazer PP&L Invites Customers to New Office Pacific Power & Light Company's Portland customers are invited to a dedication of their new office at Northeast 15th Avenue and Fremont Street on August 14, 1987. The company is moving its offices now located at 700 N. E. Multnomah Avenue to the 15th and Fremont address. Pacific's Portland manager, Carl Taiton, says he is ready for a crowd. "W e are having an open house to meet our new neighbors. We hope our customers will stop by and see the office and join in the activities.” Taiton said the company moved to the 15th and Fremont site in order to be easily accessible to customers. "It just made sense to get closer to our customers. Now, if a customer has a question about heat pumps or weatherization, he can just stop by the office. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. An open house will follow until 2:00 p.m. Free hot dogs, soft drinks and cake will be served. Door prizes will be awarded. Quality Copies - Other attractions include: • Guest appearance of Portland Trail Blazer Kevin Duckworth (12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m.). Duckworth will be available to sign autographs and chat with fans. • "Kiteman,” a popular safety cartoon character, will make an appear ance. • "Zap Rap," an electrical safety film that was a finalist in the 1986 New York Film Festival competition, will be shown throughout the day. • The arcing of electricity will be demonstrated through the company's safety board presentation, a program given to local fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes. Two retired Pacific Power employees operate the safety board and tell true stories that drive home the importance of electrical safety. • An information booth to help customers with questions about energy services.
