Pacific Power Energy Services Representative Gina Smith (right) shows the company's energy survey to customer Crystal Cupit. "Hom e Energy Profile" When you review your monthly electric bill, do you wonder what your energy dollars buy? Pacific Power & Light Company has a new service, known as a "Home Energy Profile," that can show a customer where his energy dollars were spent. "Our customers appreciate the 'Home Energy Profile,' said Rich Cannon, Pacific's Rose City manager. "They like knowing where their money is going. And, by studying the report, they can see ways to save energy." Three reports are available to customers. A "monthly analysis" gives a dollar breakdown by appliance. A con sumer can see what part of his bill went for water heating, running the free zer or operating any of dozens of appliances. Two reports are for those who have been Pacific Power customers for over a year. The "yearly analysis" is like the "monthly report," but covers dollars spent for electric hear, water heating and appliances over a full year. The "billing history" shows electricity charges for a one-year period. "Customers often use this report to evaluate whether to participate in Paci fic's Budget Balancer' program," Cannon said. "Budget Balancer" is a plan that allows customers to spread monthly payments evenly through the year. Cannon said it is popular because it helps customers avoid the seasonal ups and downs in electricity bills. Participants will be asked to complete an energy-use questionnaire, known as "The Home Energy Profile." The survey covers basic questions about energy use — "W hat type of energy does your water heater use, "Do you have a dishwasher?" Customer information and billing records are entered into a computer that tabulates the data and generates a graph "The 'Home Energy Profile' is free, easy to read and shoud give cust omers a useful tool for identifying and controlling their energy costs," Can non said. Customers interested in getting a "Home Energy Profile should < <•> tact a Pacific Power customer office. M t.
