ALBERTA t PURE SUMMER ACTION TWO HOURS OF EXCITEMENT!" Menu: Cash Prizes: The Flirt Band I A v e n PassinArt: A Theatre Company will present "Split Second", a forceful drama, by Dennis McIntyre July 3rd - July 26th at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center (5340 N. Interstate) on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Discount tickets prices for Sunday per formances are available. Tickets are $7.00 Friday/Saturday, and $5.00 on Sunday. "Split Second" is a compelling drama that depicts the experiences of a young Black police officer when faced with the consequences of one of his "split second" decisions. A decision that not only impacts his life, but that of his family. The play takes a hard look at the differences between the values of the young police officer and that of his father (a retired police man); and what happens to a family when they suddenly find themselves caught up in the tragedy of a split second decision. The Company plans to have a special community forum Sunday, July 19th immediately following the play at 4 p.m. The purpose of this forum will be to discuss the issues raised in the play (i.e. values, racism; and how our "split second" decisions impact issues we all face in our daily lives. "Split Second" will be directed by Michael J. Grant, co-founder and artistic director of PassinArt. His directing credits include "The Resurrec tion of Lady Lester" (IFCC); "Funnyhouse of a Negro" (PassinArt); and "Portraites in Black: A Theatre Presentation (IFCC). Grant is also an actor, writer, and musician. Cast members include Henry Melson (Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, Spell No. 7); Julie Serquinia (A Raisin in the Sun); Gunnar Forland, Anthony Baggette; Michael Holiday (Little Shop of Horror); and Neal Thomas. "Split Second is sponsored in part through grants from the Metropolitan Arts Commission and Oregon Arts Commission.
