Sealed bids will be received at the office of the City
Recorder, City Hall, Room 205, Salem. Oregon, until
but not after 11:00 a m , Local Time on August 20,
1986, at which time all bids will be publicly opened
and read aloud at the Council Chambers, Civic Cen
ter, 555 Liberty Street S.E., Salem, Oregon for the
"CONSTRUCTION OF A WATER MAIN IN HAN
SEN AVENUE FROM LIBERTY ROAD, WEST TO
M OUNTAIN VIEW DRIVE "
The proposed work consists of: approximately 948
lineal feet of 12 inch ductile iron waterline, complete
with other appurtenant works and approximately 30
lineal feet of six inch (6") ductile iron waterline.

Plans and Specifications are filed with the Purcha
sing Director and copies may be obtained from the
above address for a »5 00 non refundable fee
Checks and Money Orders only. Plans and specifica
tions will not be mailed within the Tri County area
Pursuant to the Multnomah County Public Contract
Review Board Administrative Rules (AR 40 0301
Prequalifications shall be required for this project for
the following class of work: Municipal Street Con
struction
Prequalification applications or state
ments must be prepared during the period of one
year prior to the bid date and must be actually re
ceived or postmarked to Multnomah County by not
later than 10 days prior to bid opening

All bidders are hereby specifically advised that these
conditions require a minimum of 15% of the total bid
amount for Minority Business Enterprise participa
tion in one or more of the following subcontract
areas bidders option, and 2% of the total bid
amount for Female Business Enterprise participation
in one or more of the following subcontract areas

Bidders on this work will be required to comply with
the provisions of Federal Executive Order 11246
The requirements for Bidders and Contractors are
explained in the Specifications
No bid will be received or considered unless the bid
contains a statement by the bidder as part of his bid
that the requirments of 279 360. 279 352, 279.366
and 279 356 shall be met
No proposal will be considered unless accompanied
by a check payable to Multnomah County, certified
by a responsible bank, or in lieu thereof, a surety
bond for an amount equal to ten percent (10% l of
the aggregate proposal The successful bidder shall
furnish a bond satisfactory to the Board in the full
amount of the contract.
Multnomah County reserves the right to reject any or
all bids

Plans, specifications and other bid documents may
be inspected and obtained at the office of the City of
Salem, Department of Public Works, 555 Liberty
Street S E , Room 325, Salem, Oregon The bidder
shall not file the book of "Standard Construction
Specifications" with his bid
Bids shall be made on the forms furnished by the
City, addressed and mailed or delivered to the City
Recorder, City Hall, Room 205, Salem, Oregon
97301, in a sealed envelope plainly marked "BID ON
HANSEN AVENUE LIBERTY TO MOUNTAIN VIEW
DRIVE WATER M A IN ," and the name and address
of the bidder
A surety cond, cashier's check or certified check of
the bidder, made payable to the City of Salem, in the
amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid must accom
pany each bid as security Bid security of all save the
three lowest bidders will be returned following the
bid opening; all bid security will be refunded upon
execution of the contract by the successful bidder.
No bid will be received or considered by the City of
Salem unless the bid contains a statement by the bid
der the provisions of ORS 279.350 shall be included
in his contact.
The attention of bidders is directed to the provisions
of Chapter 97. Salem Revised Code, concerning un
lawful employment practices. Violation of such pro
visions shall be grounds for immediate termination of
this contract without recourse by the contractor.
