U .S . D e p a rtm e n t o f H o u s in g and
U rban Developm ent ( H U D ) to study
the issues o f fair housing in the city o f
P o rtla n d , M u ltn o m a h C o u n ty and
State o f Oregon.
T he a w a rd , one o f fifte en granted
nation-wide, w ill be used to develop a
task force, representing both the public
and pnvate secton, which will examine
the barriers to equal housing o p p o r
tu n ity and d evelo p a com prehensive
strategy plan to e lim in ate those b a r
riers.
T h e " N e w H o riz o n s P r o g r a m ”
reflects the U .S . Department o f H ous
ing and U rb a n D e v e lo p m e n t’ s e m
phasis on p u b lic /p riv a te sector sec
