Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction
Bids due 2:00 p m. June 15
The City of St. Helens invites Bids for the following
Bicycle Path Construction Phase III
Sealed proposals for the construction of the 1964 Expansion of the Newport
Wastewater Treatment Plant, addressed to City of Newport, will be
received at the office of the City Manager. City of Newport, 810 S W Alder
St.. Newport, Oregon 97366, until 2:00 p.m., local time, on the 16th day of
June, 1984, end then will be publicly opened end read.
The work contemplated consists of construction of a mechanical bar screen
facility, 60-foot diameter biofilter, three aluminum domes, odor control
equipment, pump station modifications, and grit conveyor modifications
The work will be totally financed by local funds. Drawings and
Specifications may be examined in the office of the City Manager,
Newport, or at the office of the Engineer, CH2M Hill, 2300 N W Walnut
Boulevard, Corvallis. Oregon 97339
Aggregate base preparation, asphalt concrete paving and other related
work to complete approximately 3,495 lineal feet of bicycle path con
struction within the City of St. Helens. Oregon Width of asphalt con
crate varies from 2' to 9'.
Detailed specifications are available from the City Administrator. Bids must
be sealed and submitted in writing to contracting officer by the time of the
public opening which is 10:00 A M ., May 24, 1964 Prequalification
requests are not desired or necessary but must be received by 10:00 A M ,
to low bidder who complies with bid requirements and specifications A
City business license is required for doing business in the City. The City of

Contractors must be qualified in accordance with the applicable parts of
JRS 279 in order to enter into a Contract with the Owner for public work in
Oregon.
Bidders who are not currently prequalified by the Owner to perform the
type and size of work contemplated herein shall submit a completely
executed Contractor's Prequahfication Application to the Owner prior to, or
at the time of bid opening.
Bidders who are in doubt as to their current status with the Owner regar­
ding prequalification are encouraged to informally contact City Manager,
Newport, Oregon to determine prequalification status. Prequalification Ap
plication forms may be obtained at the office of the Engineer, or at the
State of Oregon Public Contract Review Board, 100 State Office Building,
Salejn, OR 97310. The Owner will investigate and determine the
qualifications of the apparent low Bidder prior to awarding Contract

No proposal will be received or considered by City Manager, Newport,
Oregon, unless the Proposal form contains, or is accompanied by, a
statement by the Bidder as a part of his Porposal that the provisions
required by ORS 279 350 pertaining to prevailing wages shall be included in
his Contract.

Sealed proposals for furnishing all materials, equipment and labor for the
construction of water lines for the Hazelwood Water District will be
received at the District office at 1017 N.E. 117th Avenue, Portlend. Oregon.
97220, until 2:00 p.m., June 5. 1964
Immediately thereafter
such proposals will be publicly opened and read A contract will be awarded
or bids reiected within sixty (80) days after the opening
The proposed work consists of furnish and installing 45 lineal leet of 10-inch
diameter. 644 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter and 6,068 lineal leet of 6 inch
diameter ductile iron, Class 52 pipe, including corrosion protection
miscellaneous lengths of 4 through 10-inch PVC pressure pipe, excavation,
backfill, thrust restraint, valves, fittings and appurtenances Included are six
water main crossings of E. Burnside Street encased in Class III Reinforced
Concrete Pipe. Crossings range in size from 8" D.l. to 14” D I. water lines
Also included is the installation of approximately 81 H inch house ser
vices, 8 1-inch services, 2 I-H-inch services, and 2 2-inch services which
consist of furnishing and installing copper service lines, connections, cor
poration stops, curb stop, hendwheel valves, excavation, backfill, surface
restoration and appurtenances
Plans and Contract Documents may be examined in the Hazelwood Water
District office or at the office of the Consulting Engineers.

MANHOLES in the City of St Helens, Oregon addressed to the Mayor and
