Previously they had per formed with the SilvcTTPwuj Port- land gospel group. In addition, Love’s leadership ability dates to another group, the Lord's Physi cians. which toured the Pacific Northwest and the west coast's “ glorifying" the Lord through mu sic and song. According to Love, when they perform, the audience see what the Lord has done for them. "H o w ob viously he has made us happy," he said. "W e feel so strong about it that we show it through song, dance, drama and everything else." New light Gospel is an aggrega tion of seven: David Love, leader, guitar, accordian and "any other" instrument in the band; Louis John son. lead guitar and keyboards; Jonathan Johnson, baritone; Kathyleen Johnson, second sopra no; Mary Love, first soprano and bass; John Teasly, percussions; and Viola Teasly, second soprano. Anyone wishing to contact the group may write to New Light Gos pel, c/o David Love. 1611 N .W . Lovejoy, Apt. 9, Portland, 97209. Rather than being seen as a morbid development, the admis sion of death is actually considered rather healthy, A N D practical. On the personal level, one can remove deaih from the list of un mentionable topics by talking openly and frankly about funeral plans and making a W ill. Including your family and loved ones in such a discussion will ultimately do more to prevent pain and anguish than any discomfort saved by leav ing them in Ihe daik. Naturally, if you are married you should consult with your spouse The same applies if you are a single adult living with a friend. You might he startled to find out ihai he or she often ihought about the subject but was afraid to men tion it to you for fear of being ihought insensitive. b Vann Vann Funeral Directors 5211 N Williams Avenue Tel: 281 2838 'T>Wb • no doubt w « wy yc*. <^1 Vmo Vw i H
