Dick Clark’ s “ American Bandstand” w ill celebrate Smokey Robinson’ s

gram, airing December 12 on ABC-TV.
The many facets o f Robinson’s career—which has now touched four dec

“ American Bandstand*’ w ill relate to Robinson, who w ill be on hand to
perform “ Being With You.” “ Who Said” and "C ruisin’ .”
His days with the Miracles will be remembered by “ Mickey’ s Monkey,”
“ Going To A Go Go” and “ Shop Around,” which were only a few o f the
group’s many hits.
Long called one o f music’ s most influential figures, Robinson has also
.had tremendous success as a songwriter. That aspect o f his illustrious career
w ill be highlighted on the show by the songs “ More Love” (Kim Carnes),
“ A in’t That Peculiar” (Marvin Gaye) and “ The Way You Do The Things
You Do” (The Temptatons).
Long a part o f the Motown Records family, Robinson’ s own fam ily—
represented by nephews Keith and Darrell, who are also signed to the label
- w ill also appear on the salute, performing “ You’ re My Gardener.”
