The theatre shows the kin d o f movies on a m a in stre e t we d o n ’ t need. T h e theatre is ju s t using this co m m u n ity fo r its ow n selfish purposes. We say the fo rm a t o f the theatre ought to be ch anged to show m o v ie s th a t are p o s itiv e ad th o se film s th a t p o sitive ly reflect on the Black co m m u n ity .” H e rn d o n responded to a q u e stio n re g a rd in g the F ro n t s k ip p in g o f here and th e re on issues. “ T h a t w o u ld be tru e i f we w eren’ t s till w o r k in g on a ll th o se o th e r issues. N o w the c o m m u n ity has a m iddle school. Before the F ro n t got involved there was no m iddle school and forced one-way bussing. In the area o f the police, because o f a suit file d last year, the P o rtla n d P olice D epartm ent w ill ce rta in ly be fo u n d g u ilty o f d iscrim in a tio n .
