Prequalification of Bid ders Required on this Project. Obituary Edwin Washington was born Sep tember 14, 1906 in Birm ingham , Alabama. He was the only child o f George and Mamie Washington. He attended grade and high school in Birmingham and graduated from Talladega College. While in college, much ot his tim e was spent in debating. He was reared in the Zion A .M .E . Church, where he taught Sunday School. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 1929 where he was employed at the Portland Hotel. On November 7, 1932 he married Dorothy Grace Morton and to this union five sons were born - Edwin, J r., Ronald, W arren, D aryl and Glenn. In 1935 he became a dining car w aiter w ith the U nion Pacific R ailroad and worked u n til his retirement in 1970. He was a mem ber o f the Retired Railroad Senior Citizens Association and the First A.M .E. Zion Church. Survivors include his wife, Dor- thy, five sons, seven grandchildren and several cousins. above address. Taylor, a form er resident o f M ed fo rd , Oregon, was born on November 22, 1901, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He is survived by one brother, William H arris o f Sacremento, C a lif. He was a veteran o f World War 1. He was interred in Willamette National Cemetery. Lucy Wills passed away at a local Care Center March 8, 1980. She was born in Ashdow n, Arkansas on February 17, 1891. She was a mem ber o f New Hope Baptist Church, and she lived at 630 N.E. Monroe for many years. She is survived by sons: M a jo r, George, and Nural W ills; daughters, Roberta Glass, Ruthie Mae Bryant and Lula Mae D uckett, and one brother W ill Dunn; 37 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. Rev. A.B. Devers officiated at the funeral. Interment was at Rose C ity Mausoleum. Vann’s Mortuary was in charge o f arrangements. Sally Williams, a resident o f 4626 S.E. Salmon died March 8, 1980 at a local hospital. Her funeral service was held at the Good Samaritan Church o f God In Christ. She had been a member there fo r many years. She is survived by sons: Roy and Ruben Smith; daughters, Geneva Skinner o f Pasco, W ashington, M argaret A llen o f O akland, California, and Helen Mandley o f Portland, Oregon; 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also sur vive. Services were held on March 12, 1980. Elder F.J. Crear was the o f ficiating minister. Interment was in Rose City Cemetery. Lewerette was well known and respected in the field o f jo u r nalism and received many awards fo r his c o n trib u tio n to the newspaper industry. A long time resident o f the South Shore com m unity, M r.
