H om eow ners w h o d o not receive a check by January 2 sh o u ld first co n stale s pa rtia l paym ent o f th e ir p ro p e r ty taxes under the Tax R elief Plan passed by the 1979 l egislature. A to ta l o l $3 m illio n was d istrib u te d to homeowners in 26 counties. M ost O regonians w h o file d claim s under the new plan had the state American State Bank 2 7 3 7 N.E. U n io n tact th e ir co u n ty assessor to see i f the cla im was approved and sent to the • revenue departm en t. Checks w ill be issued in Ja n u ary fo r claim s received by the d e p artm en t a f ter Decem ber 13. H om eow ners w h o have still not tiled lo r rebel on 1979-80 p ro p e rty payment shown as a credit on th e ir ta ll lax statements. H om eow ners whose claims were file d o r processed late w ill receive the slate paym ent d ire c tly fro m the O regon D epartm ent o f Revenue.
