Parti cipating w ill be vocal groups from throughout the c ity , brought together under the sponsorship o f the Urban 4-H Choral Ensemble. Among featured artists to appear in the Christmas Musicaie are the Love Congregation, Young People’s Choir o f New Hope Church, The Moore Brothers, The Inspirational Five, Solid Rock Church o f God in Christ Choir, the Williams Temple Choir, Parkrose Tabernacle Choir, Mighty Wings o f Faith and Emanuel Temple C h o ir. Soloists to be featured include Celesta Paul, Virginia Shepard and Lonnie Dott- son. Coordinating plans for the Christ mas Musicaie this year were mem bers of the Urban 4-H Choral En- semble, Ire tta M u m fo rd , Deidre Jenkins and Kim Kimmons. The public is advised to come early as seating w ill be on a first come basis. The animated film version o f J.R R. During the week between Christmas and New Years, Tri-Met Bus #62 will provide direct daily service to the zoo from Portland Mall and Beaverton Park and Ride The buses w ill run on an hourly basis, with the first bus leaving Port land Mall at 6th and Morrison at 9:35 a m. The first bus from Beaverton Park and Ride, Broadway and Lombard, leaves at 10:10 a m. The last bus for the day leaves Portland Mall at 6:35 p.m. and Beaverton Park and Ride at 7:10 p.m. The regular weekend and holiday schedule for Bus #62 to the Zoo w ill be in effect for Chnstmas and New Year’ s weekends. The Washington Park Zoo invites all children eleven years o f age and under to join in the fun at the zoo for the fourth annual Children's Holiday Free Dav. Thursday, December 28th, from 10:00 a m. to 3:00 p.m. Children ages eleven and under will receive free Zoo admission and free animal crackers. Meet the Cinnamon Bear and Rudolph, the red-legged dragon, and laugh with two happy- -go-lucky clowns. Smilin' Ely and Bingo. Special features during the day will be free performances by Kay Lee’ s Playbox Players in the Ladybug Theater, at 11:00 a.m., Noon, 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. Volunteer ZooGuides will provide in formation and directions. Due to unfortunate, unavoidable circumstances the 8th Annual Goldenball Classic Tournament has been postponed due to the fact that the Cascade College gymnasium is being resurfaced. This is the first year a broadly effective inoculation has been available against pneumonia, the Fifth leading cause o f death in the U.S. A fte r physician diagnosis, some patients with significant underlying chronic diseases might need the vac cine.” says Dr. Charles Schade, staff physician for the Multnomah County D epartm ent o f Hum an Services. ‘ ‘ Such patients include those who have had splenectomies and those with sickle cell anemia. There are few such persons in Multnomah County.” Dr. Schade noted that there are ample supplies o f vaccine for those patients whose doctors recommend the shot. Because o f the small num ber o f people who actually need the vaccine in Multnomah County, no mass clinics are planned. Persons who need the vaccine w ill be able to obtain it from their physicians.
