TENTING TONIGHT — Hundreds o f youngsters
have been joining in the fun during summer
vacation, attending camp-outs at local parks and
overnight camp-out excursions to the 4-H camp
ON YOUR MARK - M ilton Adams, Athletic
Director at John Adams High School, and Patty
Baum, 4-H staff member, discuss the popular
Junior Olympics program on the calendar for
M ay 26th, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at John
Adams School. Youths from 18 Northeast schools
w ill participate in relays, dashes an d field
events. The 4-H Urban program is sponsoring the
Junior Olympics for the fifth consecutive year.

HANDS ACROSS THE NATIONS - The first an ­
nual Cultural Fun-Fair, on event held April 22nd,
at M att Dishman Center, sponsored by Urban 4-H,
brought together people and ethnic exhibits from
all over the world. Foods were spicy, tangy, and
e xo tic from East to West a n d South o f the Border.
GREEN THUMBS — Humboldt School youngsters
enthusiastically join in the Green Thumb plant
and to il classes instructed by Joyce Payne,
4-H staff m ember. Children have the opportunity
of watching their own seedlings and cuttings
grow and develop into healthy plants. Ms. Payne
also instructs a youth group in planting and
caring for vegetable gardens.
