Page 6 Portland Observer Thursday, April 27, 1978 Behind the wall i Larry Baker #354121, O.S.P. I orre*.»ondent From the first week of April until the last week in June every Wednesday evening in the Education Department inside the walls of O.S.P., a class is held which has become the talk of the institu tion. Since “you can't take the mountain to the lions, then you have to create a method bring the lions to the moun tain." And that is just what those who are responsible for developing the O.S.P. Educational lx»gal Law Class have done for their spring inmate-governed ses sions. The thirty inmate students are concen trating on federal, state and civil laws (in cluding slate government). The students receive no final exam, nor grades, be cause everything is based on the volun teer efforts to attend and participate in each and every session. Since high cement walls and solid steel bars prevent these students from attend ing lecture sessions with those who are experts on law and government. Together in a combined effort of the "Behind the Wall" staff, the Portland Observer. O.S.P. Education. Rehabilita tion and security directors, along with a Senator’s wife from Ashland, have sue cessfully arranged to have these expert lecturers to appear before the students during the next three months. It is a selection of people from any university or college who have participated in law or government courses. State Senators: Fadeley. Hannon, Mc Coy Roberts, Trow, and Heard. With only 21 seconds left in the First overtime period Anderson found the upper right corner of the goal unprotect ed for the game winning sudden death goal. The 3-2 win put Portland in a first place tie with the Vancouver Whitecaps in the North American Soccer league's west ern division of the National Conference, after the Whitecaps defeated Colorado 1-0 on Sunday. The play that scored the game winning goal was initiated by Timber John Bair. “I saw John with the ball out on the left and 1 was shouting for him to get it into Clyde,” said Anderson who was lurking on the right side at the time. “Clyde just flicked the ball to me. He gave me a good ball, and all I had to do was whack it on the volley. When 1 hit it 1 thought it might go over, but I saw it land in the back of the net,” concluded Anderson. The score made it the third time in as many years that Anderson has scored an Overtime goal against the Lancers, coincidentally all by the same 3-2 score. The Timbers reacted well to coach Don Megson's change in the lineup. Megson moved Brian Gant to midfield to help Bain and Jimmy Conway. In the past two games Megson used only two midfielders. Bain, who scored the Timbers second goal had this to say about the new lineup. “With three players in the middle you have the freedom to go forward because you know there are players back to defend." Stewart Scullion scored the Timbers first goal after taking a pass from Conway with his back to the goal. He then dropped to his back and fired Pele style over his left shoulder for the score. Brothers and Sisters, don't you think it is time to stop talking about the talk and start doing what has to be done?
