I t puts the perform er in a very defensive position. T ryin g to relate to the audience, remembering a repertoire of songs and try in g to keep yourself motivated a t the same tim e can be a difficult task. How ever. T im B urr, who is currently packing the people in at the M arket Place, doesn't have any problem what so ever at keeping it all together. B u rr’s range of perform ing includes: comedy, audience participation and nice and mellow listening. Although I would prefer the mellow listening. B urr is quite skillful in blending all three phases of his performance into one very smooth performance. T im B u rr has been uneffected by the wonders of the electronic gadgetry so popular to some, and so vital to th eir shows. He plays a six string I non-electrical) guitar and sings some of the mellowest music you’ll ever w ant to hear. H e offers his audiences an impressive repertoire of “music". Paul W illiams. N at King Cole, Cole P o rter. H enry Mancini, the In k Spots. James Taylor. Jose’ Feliciano are but a few of the artists from over 70 that he chooses his m aterial from. Not even mentioning the songs from Broadway musicals and songs from over a half dozen countries th at he sings in th eir native tongue. Sounds impressive? W ell he is. B urr has played your b etter clubs and hotels from San Diego to the Captain Cook Hotel in Anchorage. Alaska. T im has just signed to do a tw o month gig in Spokane, Washington, so you’d b etter get by quick! The atmosphere at the M arket Place is intim ate, T im is there - so you know the music is good. Add a heated Cognac, sitting by the fireplace - only adds to the evening. W h a t’s the world sayii about ht I I don't even feel like I’m dieting! Ba«y to follow...
