Forrest Jenkins is an energetic, civic minded individual who is a native of
Portland. Jenkins is president and founder of Star Productions, the first
Black theatrical company in the state of Oregon. The company's productions
are entertaining and educational.
Jenkins developed a tutoring program for Jefferson High School that waa
selected for use in the high schools of Puerto Rico.
Jenkins served as Public Relations D irector for Portland State
University's Black Studies Center in 1975. H e served as president of the
Black Studies Advisory Board, recommending courses, workshops, and
programs that would fill the needs of urban Blacks
He is a member of the Black Justice Comm ittee, the N A A C P . and the
G ray Panther Party.
