has proven to be v e ry good and yes, some should re s tric t to confined q u a rte rs . B u t it's
all in fun regardless how you look a t it. T h is w e e k's w in n e r was Stephen Pearson who
sang a couple o f pop tunes. Person is only about 17 y e a rs old, b ut has a n a tu ra l flow o f
a b ility w hen he's singing. W ith th e rig h t g ro om in g and m o tiv a tio n , S tephen Pearson

The power situation in
the Northwest remains
serious.
The rains that started the
first of March should have
started last September. As
a result, power reservoirs
are still wap below normal.
Snowpack is less than half
what it should be.
Right now there is a 50-
50 chance mandatory cur­
tailment will be necessary
this summer or fall.That
projection is based on
“normal” precipitation
from here on out.
Think about it this way.
Loss of power will mean
loss of jobs.. .and family
hardship. It will mean
mandatory steps to cut
use. No ifs, ands or buts.
The only way we have of
avoiding this situation is to
curtail use now.
It may be difficult to
understand why turning off
lights, reducing thermo­
stats and hot water use is
so important now. But it’s
going to be a lot tougher
next fall If we push our luck
...and lose.
