Children of prisoners receive Christmas dolls Every Christmas the Salvation Army works double-time to bring cheer and love, as well as Christmas baskets, into the lives of others less fortunate. Major Frances Tomlinson, Correctional Services Director, and her committee of volunteers, have gifts for children of inmates in a number of Penal Institu tions. The Committee has over 300 hand dressed dolls for the girls, footballs, soccer balls, and trucks for the boys, hand bags or transistor radios for older children, and cuddly toys for babies. These toys are purchased through the funds supplied by the Christmas Appeal, and are given to the children from Mom or Dad. with no mention of the penal institution. They are delivered personally by committee members and local Spva- tion Army officers. Center provides eye care The Albina Action Center Optometric Clinic, located at 707 N.E. Knott, is actively seeking applicants for eye serv- vices. The Clinic, run by the center in conjunction with Pacific University College of Optometry, offers numerous eye care services, including examinations and eyeglass prescription.
