Fifth Avenue, at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend. The public is invited to attend an open house at the Yaun Youth Care Centers, on Friday July 23rd. 197« from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Yaun Boys home is located at 5037 N.E. 9th Avenue, and the Girls home is at 5128 N.E. Rodney Avenue in Portland. The Yaun Centers offer residential care and treatment tor urban youth in northeast Portland. Tours of the homes and an opportunity to meet residents and staff will be features of the open house. Refreshments will be served. The Children's Resource Center is a weekly feature of the Saturday Market. It's a place which provides an environ ment where children of all ages can come and explore such activities as: painting, sculpturing, theater and dance, games, face painting, and blocks. We are open between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m .. . Rain or Shine. The cost is 50c per child per hour. Come and visit us. On July 31st Friends of the Multnomsh County Library will hold its annual book sale in the lower level of the Galleria, S.W. Alder, downtown Portland. Thou sands of volumes of books and records at well as sheet music and magazines will b> on sale to the public. The precedes to gc to the service of the Multnomah County Library. Beginning Friday, July 30th and running through Sunday, August 8th, special Tri-M et Bus Service will be in effect to and from the Multnomah County Fair at the Expo Center on North Marine Drive in Portland. According Vo Eugene Williamson, T ri Met spokesman, "This service will commence at 11:30 a.m. daily from S.W. 6th and Morrison, downtown Portland with service every hour.” Final departure from the Expo Center will be at 11:00 p.m. to the downtown area. Special prices will be in effect for Senior Citizens between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. of the T ri Met Service. Senior Citizens will be admitted to the Multnomah County Fair FREE on a daily basis of the ten day event. The YWCA's Women’s Resource Cen ter is sponsoring an overnight campout at McIver State Park July 24th 25th for women and women with children. Gail Brown, YW CA youth director, says this is an opportunity for single women to provide a family outing for their children without the physical bur den of setting up a camp. She added a support group will assist in preparing camp. Participants will need to provide a tent, equipment and food for the weekend trip. A potluck dinner is planned for Saturday night with child care available two hours each day. The group is limited to 16 tents and a $2 fee per tent includes registration, in surance and child care. Reservations can be made by calling the Portland Down town YWCA. Wilderness ecology workshops at Mt. Hood are offered for teenagers by- the Portland YWCA. Fourteen to 20 year olds will discuss the issue of clear cutting and travel to Mt. Hood to actually ob serve clear cuta and natural forests. A one day class will explore and discuss the clear cutting issue at 10 a.m., July 20th. A one day trip to examine a clear cut will be July 21st and an overnight trip to a wilderness area to observe a natural forest is July 28th 29th. Gail Brown. YW CA youth director, says that some scholarships are available for the wilderness ecology workshops. She added that those interested should contact her at the Downtown YWCA. The fee for the workshop is »20 for members and »3 for non-members with transportation, food and insurance included. A personal sleeping bag is ne eessary for the overnight trip however. A boys' football clinic will be held at Roosevelt High School through July 30. Sessions are from noon to 2:00 p.m. for all Bicycle races are held Tuesdays at the Portland International Raceway in West Delta Park. Call 286 6636 for information. Junior Co-ed Track Program '* held Monday and Tuesday afternoon^at the Roosevelt High School track.
