Obituary
Ernest Marion Strawder
died at his residence on Oc
tober 17. He was born in
Kansas City, Missouri on
February 12, 1894 and fame
to Portland at the age of 16.
He married Helen J. Hooper
in 1917. He served for 42
years with the railroad, re
tiring ten years ago.
He
served in the Merchant Ma
rines during World War I.
Strawder was a past member
of the Billy Webb Ixxjge.

der. Helen Myles, and Jean
ette Plummer, all of Portland;
a brother. Webster; 4 grand
children and 9 great grand
children.
Services were held Satur
day. October 20 at Colonial

ciating.

A Public Hearing shall be conducted by the Tri-County
Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Tri-Met)
on October 30. 1973. at 1:30 p.m. in the Portland Water
Service Building auditorium. 1800 S.W. 6th Avenue. Port
land. Oregon, for the purpose of considering a project
for which financial assistance is being sought from the
Urban Mass Transportation Administration, pursuant to
the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amende.I,
generally described as follows:
The project is to purchase various shop office and
service equipments, purchase and install bus passenger
shelters in the Tri-Met service area, and to renovate
existing maintenance and repair facilities located at 4314
S.E. 17th Avenue in Portland. Oregon.
The estimated cost of this project is S5.500.000 with
Federal participation of $4,400,000. Tri-Met's share of
$1,100,000 will come from employer payroll taxes collected
by Tri-Met pursuant to Tri Met Ordinances 2, 4 and 6.
The project will have no adverse environmental impact
on the urban area. An Environmental Impact Assessment
on the renovation of facilities and the Capital Grant
Application are available for inspection at Tri-Met office,
4314 S.E. 17th Avenue, Portland, Oregon.
The project is in conformance with comprehensive land
use and transportation planning and is currently under
rev iw by the A 95 Clearinghouse.
