Many of those revolution ary b ro ilers and sisters were Christians of long standing, ta t had found the relevancy of Christ in a fast-moving, changing college world. We sat m tie Dean's office after f spoke and rapped for hours about the misconcep tions of Christ in the West ern culture. “ No, C hrist is not a white, anglo-saxon, protestant, mid dle-class, Republican.” “ He didn't come to support the system, le brought His own system with H im .” “ Did He take sides? The students are trying to raise funds for a black cul tural center. Church hosts concert The F irs t Unitarian Church of Portland w ill host the sec ond event in its 1972-73 Con cert Series on December 10, 1972, 4'00 p jn .. AN A F T E R NOON OF BAROQUE MUSIC. This concert is made pos sible under a Musicians Trust Fund grant from the local musicians' union. The pro gram w ill feature three w ell- known soloists from the Port land area: Brunetta Mazzolini Graham, soprano, a form er progeny of Bruno W alter; Fred Sautter, trumpet, and Gordon Solie, bassoon, both of whom are, respectively, principal trumpet and principal bas soon, In the Oregon Symphony and the Portland Opera O r chestra. The chamber orche stra w ill be directed from the harpsichord by Douglas L . Butler. The program w ill include a prem iere of the festive sec ular cantata, "L e Retour de la P a ix " ("T h e Return of Peace” ) by M .P . de M onte'- c la ir, scored for soprano and full chamber orchestra.
