Governor Tom McCall said ttxlay that a change in State liepartment of A griculture rules has been proposed to allow the public sale of home- baked goods. McCall s a il he directed that action be taken after appli cation of present rules brought in end to sales of home-baked bread, pastries and s im ila r prolucts at the Salem Public Market. Present rules in effect fo r five years require baked goods to be prepared in a separate kitchen. A $25 inspection p e n u lt also is required. A griculture D ire cto r Irv in Mann said the definition of what constitutes a hakery w ilt be changed to make the rule apply only to those procuding goods more than once a week. The Salem Public Market is open only on Saturdays, and the baked goods sold there usually are prepared early that Jay. The company has presented 30 $100 college grants to graduating female students at Jefferson, Manual A rts and Roosevelt High Schools in re cognition of their potential to achieve, but whose grades would otherwide not qualify them fo r distinction.
