Sen s itiv ity , awareness, under standing and concern: these are some of the qualities pastoral counselors are seek ing In their national con vention, entitled ' ‘Celebration of Awareness,*' By featuring four major presentations on the topics of Religion and Homosexuality, Religion anc Women’ s Rights, Religion and Minority Cul tures, and Religion and the Counter-Culture, the organi zers of the conference hope to keep their members alert to the issues oi the times. Sen sitivity to current problems, the pastoral counselors he- lieve, w ill allow them to min iste r more helpfully to the troubled. In addition, they an ticipate that discussions of the pioblem areas w ill produce recognition and understanding of the issues and these fact ors, coupled with an open- minded, professional assess ment by the members, w ill lead to the investigation of how such stresses affect peo ple's daily lives. Hedied October 31, 1971. M r. Collins resided at 4820 by the widow, M rs . Herise C ollins. The remains were forwarded to Monroe, La. for interment. Reverend Andrew Newton officiated. Funeral service fo r W alter C u rry was held 11 AM Novem ber 9, 1971, at Vann’ s M o r tuary. M r.C u rry died Novem ber 1, 1971. M r. C urry resided at 2228 NJE. Rodney. He had been a resident of Portland fo r 30 years. He was form erly em ployed by Rich Manufacturing Company. He is survived by one son, W illie, and 2 nephews Warren and R obertC urry.
