of a new program her called
"Operation Green Thumb." To
explain briefly, the program
con sits of certain land being
set aside In the inner-city to
raise vegatables.
KATHY HARVEY decided to

She received some twelve to­
mato plants and placed them
on her slotted land. F o r some
time she nursed and pampered
them until they were about two
feet high.
Well, the other
morning, KATHY' went out to
admire the efforts of her labor
of love only to discover twelve
empty holes!

June has long been noted
as a month fo r lovers. And
love oft times leads to mar­
riage. Looking over the cal­
ender fo r the rest of June and
the firs t part of July we see
two upcoming nuptials.

This past Sunday was known
around the world as Father’ s
Day. On that day all at the
fathers were treated to all of
the wonderful gifts their little
loved c-nes. A day filled with
toys fo r daddy. 1 do hope that
all of the Dads had a plesant
day. I also want to wish my
dad SAMUEL WADDY, a be­
lated Father’ s Day. 1 under­
stand he had one jo lly tim e.
