The Drive was authorized by the heads of the 25 national affiliate organiza tions which comprise the N a tio n a l Council. T he Women’s Missionary Society of the African Methodist Epis copal Church Is one of the affiliates and a part of the estimated four million black women In this country who recognize the power of united action. Direct Involvement In the National Council provides a strong link for black women In all walks of life, from urban as well as rural communities, to speak with a united voice. It Is intended by the D riv e to make the nation feel the Impact of our power working across the nation for quality education, putting an end to hunger, achieving an adequate income for every family providing decent housing for low-income families.
