Christian Business Men presents Sam Dalton
Tell it like it is
From a laborer fo r Protex In
dustries to a full schedule of
evangelism and speaking dates
is the experience of Sarn Dal ton
of Denver.
A tra ct entitled “ Sin Not
Skin’ ’ has been prepared by Dal
ton and in less than two years al
most a half m illio n of
tliern
have been distributed in citie s
and towns throughout Am erica.
I wo paragraphs of the tract
pointedly deal with very live
issues of the day. ’ ’ There is
much talk of Black. Green ,
White and Student power but tiie
only message that can change
belleveth.” “ While many make
the issue SKIN, the truth is, the
real issue is SIN, and this is the
cause of broken hearts, homes,
and our nation being in the
throes of chaos...The
only
answer, though despised in our
times in general. Is the love of
God as manifested in
C h rist
Jesus. ’ * This message, Dalton
said, has enabled him to speak
everywhere, in
churches,
schools,
service clubs
and
prisons. Invitations have come
from beyond the United States
and these are on his prayer lis t.
The witnessing program of Sam
Dalton is not supported by, or
backed of any group but rattier,
he says, is made possible by the
bank of heaven. He talks
to
people not about his needs, but
reared in Chicago not fa r from
the stockyards. At the ape of 15
he left home to see the world.
Sam’ s story is an unusual one.
F or 14 1/2 years he served as a
labroer fo r Protex Industries in
Denver. Protex makes a curing
compound fo r concrete and its
products
are
distributed
years ago something happened
that changed the very existence
fo r
Sam, his wife and three
adopted children. Sam d e liv e r
ed a short speech at the 29th an
nual convention of the Christian
Business
Men’ s Committee
meeting in D e troit. His talk
lasted fo r only nine minutes.
What Sam had to say had a pro
found effect on his audience and
upon Sam. A few weeks later
SAM DALTON
about Jesus who knew no sin but
was made to be sin for us
and
what he can do fo r a ll men.
Sam after much prayer
and
reading expectantly the Word of
God, n t . isted a three months
leave of absence from his Job.
This was November 1966. With
much reservation, he says “ I
stepped out on God’ s promise
saying tom ydear wife Pearl; we
are going to tru st the Lord and
be available to him if we have to
live on peanut butter
and
cr ackers. From the very outset
Sam learned that God always
honors faith and when the three
months expired lie requested
another 45 days— but it
was
only after one week of extended
leave of absence that
Sam
fe lt compelled to w rite a le tte r
of resignation to his boss of 14
years. “ Wecommitted totally,
not only our lives but all we
have to him who worketh all
things after the counsel of His
