$180,000 Ford Foundation grant,
which the school has had on hand
for several months.
Use of those funds hinged on
the agreement ot commercial net
works to bear a portion of the cost
that Ford previously has paid for
in full.
" I he significance of this is that
even in times of shrinking reve
nues, two of the networks have
seen the need to increase the pool
of trained minority talent," Abel
said.

by affiliate stations in reportorial

sessions, 93 minority group mem
bers have been trained and gain
fully employed.
The only major drawback in
this year's program is that print
journalism will not be offered.
Officials of the program did
not state the reasons why. They
said about 150 applications have
already teen received.
