Yet the action can't be hurried. For most bowlers, the ball should take four sec onds to reach the pins from the release. Have someone check and if you're seriously off this timing, work toward the ideal. Since most leagues are idle during the holidays there is no better time to work on your game. -o- HORSE RACING B ill Hartack, a five time winner of the Kentucky Derby, roared to another milestone, at »Miami's Tropical Park, when he brought Roart in the seventh race, for his 4,000th win. Registration Speed at PCC The registration process will be speeded and simplified at P o r t l a n d Community College w hen all winter term proce dures are clustered around the new Mail area of the College Center building. The Mall will provide not only an assembly area for registra tio n contact tables for every curriculum and program area, but also is within a few steps of a number of areas which will be used for counseling, guidance and advisor stations. "We think this new arrange ment will put together every thing any student will need to choose a program and sign up,” said A1 Widestrom, PCC Regis tra r. He pointed out that the regu l a r admissio.is, financial aid, counseling, and employment of fices are in a quadrant just off the Mall, where the business of fice is located also. ' 'A student can come in one door and proceed right down the line, leaving on the other side of the office with every step completed that he needs to take to get into college,” Widestrom said. " F o r registration, we've expeanded this system using the Mall area as a larger working situation.” PCC, already the largest col lege in Oregon, expects a heavy registration for winter term , although the second term is al ways somewhat sm aller. Most students at PCC are al ready pre-registering, and will complete the process beginning Monday, Jan. 4, at 9 a.m. through 8 p.m., on an appoint ment-only basis. Open registra tion begins at 8:30 a.m ., Tues day, Jan . 5, running through 8:30 p.m. Both sessions will be at the Mt. Sylvania campus, in the College Center building.
