following up the north bank of the
Metolius river and Jefferson creek to

Middle Fork i rrigation district. Hood

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that
sealed proposals will be received by
the board of directors of Middle Fork
irrigation district at their officd in
room of the Hall building, in the
city of Hood River, Hood River
county, Oregon, until 10 o'clock la
the forenoon of the 16th day of De
cember, 1922, for the purchase of the
bonds authorized and issued by said
irrigation district in the amount of
$75,000, each bond in the denomina
tion of $1000, dated January 1, 1923,
and maturing serially in annual
amounts so as to be approximately
equal, principal and interest, com
mencing January 1, 1929, and contin
uing each successive year thereafter
until January 1, 1953, when the last
of said bonds then outstanding hall
mature, bearing interest from their
date at the rate of 6 per annum,
payable semi-annually on the first day
of July and January each year, both
principal and interest to be paid In
gold coin of the United States of
America of the present standard of
weight and fineness, or in its equiva
lent, at the office of the treasurer of
said district or at the Fiscal Agency
of Oregon in the City of New York.
Usual coupons for the payment of in
terest will be attached to said bonds.
Said bonds are Issued and will be
sold for. the purpose of purchasing the
properties, rights and irrigating sys
tem of Middle Fork Irrigating cjm
pany, making necessary extent ions
and improvements to said properties
and otherwise carrying out the pur-,
poses and provisions of the law re
lating to irrigation districts in Oregon.
Bids must be accompanied by a cer
tified check or cashier's check on some
responsible bank for at least 29i of the
face value of said bonds, payable to
Charles E. Mcintosh, president of said
Irrigation district to be forfeited as
liquidated damages in case the bid
der shall withdraw his bid, or snail
fail to pay for said bonds in the vent
of his bid bf ing accepted by said
board of directors. Said bonds will
be sold tn the highest bidder for cash.
The said board of directors reserve
tho right, however, to reject any or
all bids, or any part or parts of any
bid or bids.
