THE MORNING OREGONIAN, FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 19! MINISTER'S SON IN JJUL THEFT OP AUTO IN VANCOU VER CHARGED. Tiad and Boy Friend Arrested in Ephrata, Wash., After Drive ! in Purloined Machine. . VANCOUVER. Wash, Sept. 28. (Special.) "I am living- up to the reputation of a minister's eon," said Ben Holden, 19 years old, in the county jail today, after having been arrested for stealing: an automobile. Holden said his father is a minister in Portland. Holden, 19, and Joe Rice, who said he is 17, stole the car from Nick Tower. They were captured at Ephrata, Wash., by the sheriff there, who held the prisoners until Barry Rag-use, deputy sheriff, arrived.- The lads had sold every accessory on the car, including: two spotlights, tires, inner tubes, tools, and eim ilar articles. On the trip back, they told the deputy where they had sold the property, and it was nearly all reclaimed. The boya said' they netted money to eat and sold the accessories on the car for that reason. They ob tained free gasoline by stopping- in sight of a gasoline filling station and borrowing- a gallon from the dealer, explaining- that they had run out and would drive up and fill the tank. Having obtained the gasoline, they would drive off- TOO LATE TO CLASSIFY. ONE boilermaker, 2 machinists and a few trackmen.
