In the second set, however, the westerners appeared to slightly better advantage, showing bettr co-operation, with the result that they were within a single point of tl"e set at one time. Voshell, however, made two perfect placements which were ex actly on the line and then Davis per mitted the set to be deuced by net ting the ball. After this, the set see sawed for two games and then the perfect teamwork of Voshell and Richards prevailed and they won. t to 6. Errors by the westerners were largely responsible for their pooi knowing In the third set, which they took by a 6-2 score. Herd Has Kr Time. Clifford Herd had s rather easy time with Jones In the fret match of the day. .Jones' scoring Ire first set was due entirely to errors by Herd, but the latter managed to mix In sev eral aces and placements and these, combined with Jones' errors, gave him the set, w'nUih twice was deuced. Herd hit his stride In the next three sets and quickly ran out the mutch. Marshall Allen.
