Bulges in Corn and Oats. CHICAGO, June 29. Wheat prices re bounded today with vigor from yester day's big tall. Much export business had developed and crop reports were the worst iar this season. The market closed strong. 4 to 6c net higher, with July 31.23 to SI. 24 and September 11.22 to $1.23. Com gained 3 to 5c and oats to lc. Provisions finished unchanged to 22c higher. Although some depression was shown at the outset in wheat, prices quickly be gan to climb and throughout the re mainder of the session the course proved to be practically all toward higher levels. It was estimated that export sales over night had totaled 1,250,000 bushels, and that further European demand was in prospect, for drought reports were at hand from Russia, Roumania, France, Ar gentina and Great Britain. The advices from Russia were so distressing as appar ently to place that country altogether out of possibility as a source of supply this year. In addition, reports from the do mestic spring crop belt left but little doubt that unless rains came almost im mediately, the yield would be reduced at an alarming rate. Complaints of excessive dry weather in many sections gave, rise to syne anxiety in regard to corn, which caifsed an un usual bulge in values and oats were hoisted as a result. Provisions averaged higher with hogs and grain. The Chicago market letter received yes terday by the Overbeck & Cooke company of Portland said: Wheat The action of the market today was a surprise to the majority of the trade and demonstrated that liquidation yesterday was very thorough. Nothing new in the way of news was disclosed, ex cept that there was some evidence of an improvement in the export demand and cash markets displayed a firmer tone. Sales abroad were placed at 1,250.000 bushels. Offerings from Illinois points were said to be more liberal on the basis of July prices to half cent over for ship ment by July 20. Crop news was mixed, but all advices agreed that the north western situation is critical and good rains needed to aave the crop. Showers' are predicted for the three northwestern states, but will have to be general to be of any importance. One factor which has been overlooked to a large extent is the European crop outlook, which is by no I means favorable and suggests that the import reauirements next year will be nearly as large as In the year Just closing. This means a decidedly strong situation in this country ultimately and although the marketing of the new crop and the lack of huvinflr nower mav have a tendency to bring about declines from time to time, the general tendency of prices is very likely to be upward. Corn Active buying oy leading snort in terests found offerings rather scarce and the market held very strong right up to the close, which was at the highest point of the day. The cash demand showed an encouraging Improvement and spot prices were ouotable 24 cents nigner. snipping sales totaled 110.000 bushels, of which 75. 000 bushels went to exporters and advices from the seaboard Intimated that a mucn larger business was being done. The fa vorable crop outlook was entirely without influence and the trade seemed more in clined to realize that It is a long time between now and the gathering of the crop and the critical period must still be passed through. Oats The feature of the trade was de mand of futures from recent sellers. Sell ing nresHiire was small and there was evi dence that the liquidation of the past sev- mi riuvs has about run its course. ,.inta estimated at only 100 cars an met a good demand at yesterday's basic to a shade better, tjrop aovices oinuu f erally unfavorable and many disappointin threshing returns are expecieu. For four months this committee has been laboring unceasingly to make up a pool of creditors represent ing ones-million dollars in claims to take over the assets and business, as the best method to get the most for each creditor. IV There is no other sound method known to business men whereby the result we seek can be gained. Reor ganization is the standard plan used by all big bankers and business men to avoid the great sacrifice in values that inevitably occurs in bankruptcy sales. The million pool is finished. Now we must check the' validity of each agreement before completing our plan. To offset any variations we are going to accept over that amount as a factor of safety. Until this checking of agreements is completed, you are invited to send in your signed trust agreement and join the pool. So Last Call and Fair Warning Do not charge us with unfair-dealing if, in the final result, the members of the pool get more money than those who remain outside. The plan is safe, sane, sound and profitableand every one has had an equal opportunity to participate. Creditors' Reorganization Committee MORRIS BROS., Inc. 1309 Yeon BIdg.
