For the first time in the history of the Oregon fish and game commission it found itself yesterday with its sup ply of hunting: and fishing licenses entirely depleted, and despite the frantic telephone calls of hunters throughout the state the commission was unable to supply the heavy de mand for those who wanted to go gunning for the China pheasants, wild ducks and geese. - - Carl D. Shoemaker, state game war den, put In emergency order to the state printer for 4000 licenses, and these are expected to arrive by the latter part of the week. It was believed this would be sufficient, but the ideal weather for duck hunting on the opening day of the season caused hundreds of per sons to cast their eyes longingly to ward the duck lakes. 'This rain which came on the open ing day of the duck season insures one of the bent shooting seasons in many years, and reports reaching this office today indicate that the duck hunters bagged close to the limit," said Game Warden Shoemaker last I night.
