Khvanis Willing to Give In.
TACOMA. Wash., Sept. II. (Special.)
The Tacoma Kiwanis club is setting
Itself straight with Tacomans in gen
eral by saying that it did not mean to
take sides in the controversy over the
name of the mountain when it indorsed
i Rainier instead of the aboriginal name
of Tacoma. The club in resolutions pub
i lished today said that it merely wanted
1 to link Tacoma with the advertising of
the national park, but if a successful
'effort could be made to have the Na
l tlonal Geographic board indorse the
' name of Mount Tacoma the club would
join In the plan to give it widespread
publicity.
