21 Tim MORNING OREGOXIAX, TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 1919. LAST IS OF WOOL SHIPPED TO EAST All of Government Stock Sold Has Been Moved. NEW CLIP ALSO ABOUT GONE JMarket Is Firm With Slrong De mand for Fine Wool and More Interest in Medium Grades. Taroma . . Spokane .. 2. 120.520 6r,.50 W.50 69.00 51. SO 69.00 59.00 per The last car of government owned wool that has been sold was shipped east yester day. There Is still unsold In this city be tween 2.000,000 and 3.000,000 pounds of 191S government owned wool and In the country as a whole some ir.O.ooO.OOO pounds, a small Quantity considering the needs of the trade this year. This unsold wool will not be ffered on the market until November. The current clip of Oregon wool Is being tlosely sold up. The market is In a firm position and all offerings of fine wool are being quickly absorbed. Mediums are also moving. Manufacturers' samples show a preponderance of medium wool grades, which would lrdicatethere Is eoing to be a better trade in this class of wools from sow on. Wool supplies left in the west have been cut down materially and only In eastern Idaho, and in New Mexico and Colorado are there any considerate stocks left, and even In these states tnere is no great quantity of wool available. The wools have been pretty well cleared from the growers' hands stud even from the ownership of dealers. In the. bright wool sections, chiefly east f the Mississippi river, there is more or less wool of the medium order still to be had, possibly -40 to 50 per cent of the clip still being in the hands of the farmers or the country dealers, principally the former. The percentage of fine wool still unsold, espe cially where it runs largely to staple. Is not large, fully 75 per cent of the fine wools being sold according to the best estimate Of well posted buyers who have recently toured the bright wool states. BAD SUMP IN tOAKSK GRAINS.
