PENDLETON, Or., Dec. 12. (Special.) Word was received here last evening of the death of Sheldon Ulrich, popular Pendleton boy who was a member of the Eighth Company, Fifth Regiment. United States Marines. He was killed in action in France November 10, the day before the armistice was signed. The young man is the first native Pen dleton boy to be killed in action. He was a star in all forms of high school athletics and captained his football team here for two years. His father, Frank Ulrich: brother. Half Ulrich. and an aunt, Josephine Hinderman, survive.
