BOTH RECENT ARRIVALS new cases of Influenza were reported in Illinois today. Reports from 170 Illinois cities of over 1000 population show a total of 31.800 cases of the disease. There were 1S3 deaths from influenza and. 34 from DENVER. Oct. 15. Nineteen addi tional deaths from Spanish influenza have been recorded in Denver in the 24-hour period ending1 tonight. Two hundred and fifty-seven new cases were reported today. The health committee today ordered the discontinuance of all outdoor, as well as indoor gatherings. INDIANAPOLIS, lnd., Oct. 15. John Aitken, one of the best-known automo bile race drivers In America, died here today of pneumonia followtngan at tack of influenza. He had participated In most of the big automobile speed contests since that sport 'became popular. He was 33 years old. MISSOULA, Mont.. Oct. IS. The Uni versity of Montana was closed today after a conference of the collegiate and health authorities because of the Span ish influenza. SALT LAKE CITT. Oct. 15. From every town in Utah where Spanish in fluenza has made its appearance, has come a cry for nurses. The shortage Is due. It is aaid, to the fact that many nurses themselves have been stricken. Nearly 200 new cases were reported In this city during- the last Z4 hours.
