My food would sour soon after eating it and gas would form on my stomach and bloat me up ter ribly, my appetite was very poor. I was bilious and constipated and was hardly ever free from headache. My nerves were so upset I couldn't get any sound sleep and I always felt so tired and bad in the morning that I could hardly get through with my housework. I was in a dread fully run-down condition was los ing weight and getting worse all the time and felt that unless I found the right medicine I would soon have to give up entirely. "I somehow felt from what I read about Tanlac that It was what needed, and it certainly has proven to be the very thing. When I began taking it I weighed only one hun dred and five pounds, and when finished my fourth bottle I weighed one hundred and fourteen pounds and a half, making an actual gain of nine and one-half pounds, and I have never felt stronger and better in my life than I do now. My appe tite is unusually good, all I eat agrees with me and my headaches are broken up. My nerves are strong and steady, I sleep all night long and find no trouble at all in doing my work. I have written my broth er in Salt Lake City, who has had stomach trouble for the past three years, telling him about my good luck with Tanlac, and I. feel sure from what it has done for me it will set him right, too. It is the only medicine that ever helped me, and I feel very grateful for the good ncaitn i now enjoy. COLORADO MAN GAINS 32 POUNDS "The day I started on Tanlac weighed only 130 pounds. I had no ap petite, tand, honestly., for two years I didn't eat as much in two weeks as I do now in two meals. "I started taking Tanlac, and by the time I finished my third bottle every bit of the pain had left my back and I commenced to feel like another man. I still had some rheu matic pains left, so I got another bottle, and that cleaned up the rheu matism entirely. Besides gaining thirty-two pounds, I can sleep as aound as a log at night, and can work hard all day long without get ting tired." ARKANSAS W03IAN GAINED 27 POUNDS Thousands of Thin, Frail Peo ple Are Restored to Health and Gain Rapidly in Weight by Taking Tanlac. M' WEIffl One of the most noteworthy fea tures in connection with the Intro duction of Tanlac, and the one that stands out more prominently than any other, perhaps. Is the very large number of well-known men and women from all parts of the country who have recently reported an as tonishing and rapid increase In weight as a result of its use. When so many well-known peo ple of unquestioned integrity make statement after statement, each cor roborating the other, the truth of such statements can no longer be doubted. Thousands have testified that this famous medicine has completely re stored them to health and strength, after every other medicine and the most skilled medical treatment have failed. One of the most remarkable cases on record Is that of Mrs. Charles Peden, of Huntsville, Ala., whose statement appears below. Mrs. Pe den, according to her own signed statement, gained twenty-seven (27) pounds in only a few weeks' time, and her case has created a wide spread Interest over the entire coun try. She Is reported to have rer ceived over eight hundred (800) let ters regarding her statement since publication. Hundreds of others almost as re markable have recently been re ceived, several it which are also published below. "I now enjoy better health than I have In years and I can't refrain from letting my friends and others 'know how thankful I am for what Tanlac has done for me," said Mrs. E. M. Linam, of 2310 Chester Btreet, Little Rock, Ark., recently. "In the Winter of 1916." she con tinued, "I was taken with a severe cold, and all Winter I continued to go down. I couldn't sleep for cough ing and had to sit up In bed most of the night. I was extremely nervous, felt tired and weak all the time and everything I ate soured on my stom ach. I fell off nineteen pounds in seven weeks and was getting worse so rapidly that my family and friends, as well as myself, saw no hope for my recovery. "My husband brought home a bot tle of Tanlac in June. 1916. and after I took about half of It I began to eat and my food stopped souring on my stomach. After I finished my first bottle I could eat anything at any time without It hurting me In the least. At the end of my third week I had gained five and a half pounds. I kept on taking it and improving and picking up from three to four pounds a week until all my troubles were gone and I had in creased in weight from 113 pounds to 140, making an actual gain of Jwenty-seven pounds." "I have Just finished my third bot tlo.of Tanlac, and have gained twenty-seven pounds," was the truly re markable statement made by Mrs. Charles Peden. residing at 65 Mill street. Huntsville, Ala. "When I commenced taking the medicine," she continued. "f only weighed ninety-eight (98) pounds; now I weigh 125 pounds, and never felt better in my life. For years I have suffered with a bad form of stomach trouble, constipation and pains in my side and back. At times the pains took the form of torture, and I was twice examined, and each time I was told that I had appendi citis and that an operation would bp my only hope. "I had made all preparations for the operation and called in my sis ter to tell her good-by. as I did not know whether I would live to see her again or not. My sister begged and pleaded with me not to allow them to cut on me. and told me to wait and try a good tonic for a while. The next day, as I returned from the consultation room, I thought of what she said and, as I had heard so much about Tanlac, I decided to try it, and got a bottle. "I never returned for the opera tion, hut Just kept taking the Tan lac. Right from the start I began to feel better. The medicine seemed to take hold right at once. "When I first began taking Tan lac." Mr. Chatterson continued, "I was Just about down and out as the result of two years suffering from catarrh and stomach trouble, and my wife and I had decided I had better go to bed and let her take over my business. I had absolutely no appetite and there were very few things I could eat at all. I could eat no meats or vegetables, and what I ate felt like knots in my stomach and caused me great pain. I was constantly coughing off the phlegm and mucus that collected in my throat,, and I could hardly sleep at all. I tried all kinds of treat ments and medicine and was finally told nothing more could be done for mo. 1 Just leit miseraDie ail tne time. SALT LAKE MAN GAINS 20 POUNDS TAKING TANLAC Frank Curry Says He Feels Thirty Years Younger. Troubles Overcome. Remarkable. Indeed, was the state ment made recently by Frank Curry, who lives at 317 Post street, Salt Lake City, Utah, and is known throughout the city as an expert baker. Mr. Curry declared that he has actually gained twenty pounds by taking a few bottles of Tanlac, and that, while he Is now past sixty years of age, he really doesn't feel a day over thirty. His complete statement follows: "The way this Tanlac has restored my health and built me up is be yond explaining. In fact, I wonder myself how any medicine could do anybody as much good as it has me. Five years ago, when I realized my system was getting all run-down and I began to feel so depressed, I started out to find a remedy to re lieve my condition. Well, I tried numbers of things that were rec ommended, but continued to get worse instead of better. So about two years ago I began to have In tense pains- from my shoulders on down Into my hips. My back be came weak and my kidneys and bladder got so deranged that I lost control to a great extent. I suf fered so I couldn't lie on either side, and between constantly being dis turbed by my kidneys, extreme nerv ousness and misery, I could never sleep more than an hour or two at night, and then I had to lay on my back to get any ease or rest at all. My liver waa in bad shape. I was badly constipated and I often had severe dizzy spells. My stomach couldn't digest anything, my food formed lots of gas and uric aold, and my right side hurt me all the time. In fact, I was in pain every hour, day and night, and besides this I felt sluggish, tired and no account all the time, and unfit for anything. "1 saw where Tanlac was doing so much for others that I dei-ided to see if there was anything in it for me. So on December 17th I got my first bottle, and after using itrfor several days I noticed the pains in my arms, back and other parts of my body were leaving me. Then my kidneys got better and my nerves got In a perfectly normal condition. My kidneys never bother me now. I sleep all night like a log and am full of new life and energy. I really feel thirty years younger, and you can imagine my surprise when I got on the scales and found I had ac tually gained twenty pounds in weight. I consider Tanlac to be the greatest of all medicines, for what I have gotten from It is beyond my words to express. I know there are lots of other people who nred Just such a medicine, and I feel that It is nothing but right-for me to tell them about it." DAIRY FARMER 30 GAINS POUNDS Declares He Now Eats Better, Sleeps Better and Is Better Every Way. Everybody in Columbus, Tenn., knows F. G. McGavock. who owns and operates a large dairy business in that city. "If ever there was a believer In Tanlac," says R. M. Smiser, the well known Columbia, Tenn druggist, "it is Mr. McGavock, as ho talks about It all the time. But he lias a right to talk, as no medicine has ever helped anyone as much as Tanlac has helped him. He really does not look like the same man." Here Is Mr. McGavock's statement: "I have now taken five bottles of Tanlac and have gained thirty pounds. If you don't believe It, right here I am. come and look at me. I don't know what my trouble was, but I was all run down and was unfit for work. I think, though, It must have been my stomach, an I had no appetite and nothing seemed to agree with me. I was also nerv ous and could not sleep good. I Just kept going down hill and losing weight right along, and nothing did me any good until Smiser, the drug gist, told me of Tanlac. "I tried it on his recommendation and It helped me from the first few doses. The medicine seemed to take hold right at once, and I began to eat better, sleep better and feel bet ter from the start. If anybody wants to know what I think of Tanlac, Just tell them to come to me. I am right here in Columbia. Tanlac has sim ply made a new man of me and I expect to tell all my friends about what It has done in my case." TEXAS MERCHANT GAINS 34 POUNDS Another remarkable case was that of John M. Crabtree, a general mer chant at Five-Mile Station A, Dal las. Tex. "I have actually gained thirty-four pounds on three bottles of Tanlac, and I know what It is to enjoy good health after suffering for twenty years," said Mr. Crabtree. "I suffered with catarrh of the stomach and indigestion for twenty years, and for eighteen months be fore I started taking Tanlac I had to live almost entirely on cereals. I spent nearly all of one whole year in bed and was unable to do any thing at all and I fell off In weight to 118 pounds. "After using my third bottle of Tanlac I found I had increased In weight from 118 pounds to 152 pounds, making an actual gain of thirty-four pounds all my troubles were gone, and I was feeling like another man."
