The Portland mills report having a cspacity for soourlng 1.000.000 pounds of wool a month and Insist there Is no shortage of facilities for scouring the wools in the West. They further say Weetern scoured wools have always been favorably accepted by Eastern buyers. A.'s activities, the second day's session of the Paclfio Coaat Conference of Uni tarian churches Is being held here to day. Active work In behalf of the war has been reported by every church in the conference sending delegates to the meeting. That the churches share in the glories of war service reflected by the work of their pastors, was the state ment of Rev. Harold E. B. Speight. pastor of the First Unitarian Church, in reporting for that body. "We have sent all of our men to war, yet we do not grudge them," eald Rev. Mr. Speight. "They have gone with the wholehearted spirit of the church back of them. Well we know the righteousness of the causs In which they serve." Reclama tion officials here today received from Washington authority to sell water from storage to private Irrigation projects which are likely to suffer from drought. The run-off of the Yakima River now Is about the same as in 1915. when mid-Summer was marked by a severe shortage. This season, however, the Govern ment, with a large storage already in the reservoirs, has ordered the storage of 20,000 additional acre feet at Lake Keeobelus, -and it will be eoia ai tne rate of $1 per acre foot.
