It is announced tonight that all CTTEHALIS, Wash.. April 12. (Spe clal.) Today and tonight have been the most patriotically observed oc casions In the history of Lewis County. This afternoon there was a parade of the children of the Chehalls public schools in the Interest of the third liberty loan. Tonight in practically every school district in Lewis County there was held a patriotic programme along lines suggested by N. B. Coffman, county chairman in charge of the drive. A splendid attendance was assured in advance by having practically the entire adult population sign up pledges to attend the meetings. The names of all adults were written on blackboards and at a fixed time in the programme subscriptions to the loan were called for, the amount sub scribed by each being posted publicly after his or her name. The county's allotment of $289,000 was passed by many thousands of dollars the first day the campaign started. COUNTY AWARDED TWO STARS Thurston Liberty Loan Officials to List Slackers After Drive. OITMPIA, Wash., April 12. (Spe cial.) Subscriptions to the liberty loan are coming in steadily, the day's total running to $21,200 from Olympia banks. Tenino has sold $27,000 in bonds. A grand county total of approximately $1,000,000 is now assured. This includes $fc00,000 subscribed from state funds by the State Board of Finance, which the county quota was enlarged to include. Thurston County's original quota lias been doubly subscribed. Sloan's shipyards today completed a 100 per cent subscription of its 844 em ployes. Thurston County has received two blue stars and a service flag, to gether with a letter of commendation from James K. Lynde, chairman of the twelfth district general executive France.
