STATUS OF ALIENS FIXED Attorney-General Makes Ruling on Claim for Uxeniptloa. An Important ruling, affecting; tha status of alien exemption claimants, waa received yesterday by the United Ktatea Attorney'a office, from the At- torne'-General. who holds that any alien who has waived his claim to ex emption because of the fact that he waa an alien cannot afterwards come In and claim exemption on that around. The Attorney-Ueneral also holds that the matter of determining tha accept ance of such aliens for military serv ice rests entirely with tha local boards Numerous Inatancea have been re ported recently to the United States Attorney'a office In whla hunnaturat laed Italians. Greeks and Austrlans have sought to escape military service on tha ground that they were not clti sens, although In filling out their ques tlonnairea they specifically waived that claim to exemption.
