LOS AXGELE3, May 30. (Special.) Running true to holiday dope, the An gels and Beavers split today's double header, the locals taking: the after breakfast contest, 6 to 2. and losing: the big: crowd game this afternoon, 6 to 2. - Kelley outpitched Zabel this morning, but was unfortunate In allowing three of the seven hits made off him to be In the fourth frame, when the Angela ran In four men and cinched the game. Not one of the hits got out of the Infield either, and two of them didn't seem to move more than 20 feet from the plate, good leg work on the bases doing the rest. Beavers Sail Into Mr. Hogg.' This afternoon, Portland hopped right onto Mr. Hogg, a fusillade of hits net ting three runs. Wilie and Vaughn singled and Rodgers walked, filling the bases. Southworth's single scored Wilie. Nixon and Guisto were easy infield outs, but Fisher came across with the fourth hit, a single to right center, which scored Vaughn and Rodgers. For the Angels, Maggert doubled and scored on a sacrifice and Kane's fly to Wilie. In the second Inning, McCredle be came a little nervous over Houck's work and after he had walked two men and allowed a single, Bassler scoring, the boss.sent Higginbotham in to work out tre game. Hogg was taken out In the next frame, but to keep from work ing he had to walk three men and hit another, forcing one run across the plate. Angela 1 nable to Score on Hi Kg. From this place on Hig and Stand ridge did good work, the Angels hitting right along in nearly every Inning, but being unable to do a thing with Hig ginbotham in the way of runs. In the seventh, Vaughn tore off a ingle, got around to third on two outs and came in with the Beavers' last run when Nixon hit safely to center. Mag gert copped the batting honors with five hits in the afternoon game in five times up, and two out of three trips in the morning. Guisto made only one hit tn efght tripe to the plate.
