PROPERTY PROTEST HEARD Ladd Aventte Owners Desire Benefit of Paving Competition. Declaring that they do not believe they are getting the benefit of the widest competition possible, property owners In the Ladd tract, on the Fast Side, yesterday asked the City Coun cil to hold up the award of a contract for the paving of Ladd avenue from Hawthorne avenue to Division street. Inasmuch as the pavement on the street is full of holes, the Council re cently started proceedings for repay ing. Bitulithic and asphaltic pave ments were specified in the plans and specifications, and bfds were received on those types of improvement. The property owners now want the Council to ask for bids not only for these classes of pavemcnH. but for Hassam and concrete as well.
