(SpeclaL) Old students returning to Willamette University ara surprised at the number of improve ments on th ecampus. The big addi tion to the gymnasium ia complete, and contains new bathrooms, dressing rooms for the varsity and . college teams, besides a large, commodious one for the visiting dubs. On the second floor is a girls' locker and dressing room, and the remainder of the space is devoted to a storeroom large enough to contain all tha benches used to seat spectators at the baseball games, tha hurdles and standards. The main floor of the gymnasium haa been enlarged ao that there la ample space for a full, regulatlon-aixe basketball floor. Another story has been added to Lanaanne Hall, the main young wom en's dormitory. This will contain 20 new rooma, which have already been engaged by students of the incoming class. The College of Music building has been overhauled and several hundred feet of new cement walk waa con structed leading to 1L The lawna about the building have been regraded and seeded after being raised three feet with dirt filling. The boys' dormitory In tha chapel building haa been remodeled and made modern and more comfortable than In the past, with the addition of electric lights, water and other conveniences. The big Indoor stadium building on the southeast corner of the campus has been raised several feet and the ground floor leveled. Thla building contalna the new Indoor running track, requiring only 10 laps to the mile. The athletic field has been regraded by the addition of over 1000 loads of dirt in tha Summer. Improveemnts of the campus and buildings of Willamette during the last few months amount to more than all the work dona in recent years. .Charles C. Thompson Passes. COTTAGE GROVE, Or., SepL 27. (SpeclaL) Charles C. Thompson died Sunday morning at the home of his son. H. O. Thompson, of this place. Mr. Thompson waa born at Redbank, N. J., In 1831 and moved to Jerseyvllle, I1L, in 1856. where he waa married to Miss Ellen S. Gooch. He resided there till the Summer of 1181. when he moved to Tecumsch.
