Coroner Awaits Stomnr-h Analysis of ;irl Who Died After Eating Meat Thought Infected. Result of a chemical analysis of th stom.mh of S-year-old Mabel Kin;, who died last week presumably from ptomalno pol-onlne. Is being awaited by the local authorities before the Incident la closed. The rtomach wris sent Saturday to the Oregon Agricultural College laboratory for examination but last night had not yet reached Dr. Peterson, the bacteriol ogist, who la to make the test. Pending the outcome of that test no Inquest will be held, but failure of the Ftate Board of Health to find evidences of putrefaction In a piece of liver aaid to hare been taken from the same por tion sold the King family Is taken as Indicating n possibility that death may have resulted from causes other than ptomaine poisoning. Immediately after tha child's death City Physician Wheeler secured a por tion of the liver from the KIrschner butcher shop. 73J Williams avenue. An effort was made to secure some of the liver from the King home but It had all been eaten, so Dr. Wheeler was in formed. The piece given the authori ties by the butcher waa represented as being Identical with that sold the ..in family, but there la nothing to aho that It was a part of the same liver. K. F. rernot. bacteriologist of the State Board Of Health, mnde several si Hies but found no trace of Infection. Several guinea pigs were stuffed with the food. but showed no 111 effects. Guinea pigs are very susceptible to poison In any form. It Is ex-plained by City Physician Wheeler thst one portion of a piece of meat might bear Infection and another section of tha same meat be In a whole some state. Or. Mts of putrid most might attach themselves to fresh meat In handling It on an unsanitary culling block. Krom three to flva days will be re quired for the analysis st the Corvnlli laboratory which la expected to remove any doubt cs to the precise nature of tha poison that killed the little girl Buy Umbrellas Now and Save Guaranteed Umbrellas that you can be sure will keep you dry and give you good service.
